COLLEEN: The heat forces me to stay present, stills my mind, doesn’t allow me to think.

2) What are your personal tips to Bikram Yoga Lower East Side students?
COLLEEN: When you’re in class focus on what you can give your practice, and enjoy the rich quality of life the practice brings you!

3) As a child, what did you want to be "when you grew up?"
COLLEEN: I don’t think I thought about it too much.

4) Tell us about your first kiss: who, when, where?
COLLEEN: In 7th grade my birthday party was an out of control make-out session. Maybe because it was my birthday, Jeff Mohr and I got to have the privacy of the bathroom.

5) What's your most prized possession?
COLLEEN: Artistic creations and expressions from my loved ones.

6) What's your guilty pleasure?
COLLEEN: If it makes me feel guilty I don’t do it.

7) What is your most embarrassing moment on the teacher's box?
COLLEEN: It hasn’t happened yet… wait, it surely has, but I’m just not aware of whatever it was.

8) What were you doing the day you decided you were going to be a Bikram Yoga Teacher?
COLLEEN: It happened over time… I never had a moment of revelation, never knew how much I would love this job.

9) What's the best/worst thing about being a Bikram Yoga teacher?
COLLEEN: Best: It’s never boring.
Worst: Losing the opportunity to maintain a real hairstyle.

10) What was the first concert you went to?
COLLEEN: Janet Jackson, rhythm nation

11) Who was your childhood celebrity crush?
COLLEEN: The Stray Cats

12) Describe your perfect yoga shorts.
COLLEEN: They would have chameleon-like super powers and automatically change colors to fit my chakric needs of the moment.

13) What's the first thing you think of when you wake up in the morning?
COLLEEN: I’m not thinking yet. It’s great.

14) What's your sign and birthday?
COLLEEN: January 28, Aquarius

15) Have you ever been in love?
COLLEEN: YES!

16) Say one nice thing about the person who first told you about Bikram Yoga.
COLLEEN: She is the best teacher I know. Jena Blackwood. Look her up when you travel to San Francisco and practice at Funky Door.

17) What song(s) best describe you?
COLLEEN: Frank Zappa’s Apostrophe, Sheila E’s Love Bizarre, Fishbone’s Chim Chim’s Badass Revenge, Bob Marley’s Put It On, Most of Erykah Badu’s Mama’s Gun album, Super Arquello’s Naránja…. I like this question.

18) Do you remember what your first Bikram class was like?
COLLEEN: For some reason I got up and went to a 6am class. I loved the whole thing-- a relief since I had bought at month unlimited when I signed up.

19) What was the first album you purchased with your own money?
COLLEEN: Either Rick Springfield or Bonnie Tyler

20) If you could have any job, what would it be?
COLLEEN: An acupuncturist who teaches 1 or 2 Bikram yoga classes a week, works 8 months out of the year, spending the winter ones in Bahia, Brasil.

21) What's your more favorite smell?

COLLEEN: My friend Mike’s house.
